FINANCIAL AID
For students applying to college, part of the process is applying for financial aid. The FAFSA is now available (due date depends on each college). Students should fill out the FAFSA for the year they will begin college (for example those starting Fall 2023 will fill out the 2023-2024 FAFSA). For some good info, check out Khan Academy’s lesson on Paying for College.
COLLEGE
College Fair Calendar
Please see the attached college fair calendar for Fall 2022. This year many more in-person options are in our area as close as Salisbury and Litchfield. Not all require registration, so mark your calendars!
College, Military and Program rep visits at the College and Career Resource Center (CCRC)
Colleges visiting 10/17-21: Lasell University, Western New England University, and Landmark College. The CCRC hosts in-person visits from college, school, military, and trade representatives. Visits are open to seniors and juniors and will be held in the CCRC, Room 101. Students may sign up using the form sent out via email from Mrs. Terni.
CAREER
CCRC Resume Activity Block Offering
Mrs. Terni is running a Resume Writing Workshop during Activity 1 this fall. Students who are looking for an activity are encouraged to sign up!
HVRHS Online Job Board
If your student is looking for a job, send them to the online HVRHS Job Board. When community members and businesses want to advertise opportunities, students are sent emails with each description and those descriptions are posted physically outside the CCRC and online. Documents are only accessible to HVRHS emails, so please look with your student.
