Robotics
The Robotics team was founded in 2001 by Dave Lindsay and Tom Schindler, teachers at HVRHS, after learning of the program at a teacher conference. They enlisted the aid of Andy Brockway, an engineer working at Becton, Dickinson and Company. Our team joined FIRST at the 2001 kick-off. Rookie teams often have other teams mentor them. Assabet Valley Regional Technical School mentored us and helped us build a simple reliable robot. Our team came together in a very short time and qualified 6th in our regional. From these beginnings our team has continued to see success at competitions, grow as an after school program, and be an invaluable resource for its students. Our team also supports Lego League and currently mentors several teams in the area.
